Club Marina Gocek – Fethiye

Club Marina in Gocek is a beautiful natural haven in the completely sheltered Bungus Bay. Situated at the northwest point of the Fethiye Gulf on the stunning southwest coast of Turkey, the marina is set in landscaped gardens and flanked by steep, pine-clad hills. Its position is ideal for before or after your charter because the town is so near - just a short drive or ferry ride away.

There is space for vessels of up to 80 metres in dockage and 100 metres in the mooring facility, with dock handler assistance available 24 hours per day. There are also private quays available, where larger yachts can enjoy the tranquillity of the setting with yet more peace. The marina is an entry point, so all customs issues can be dealt with upon arrival.

Each boat will be provided with electricity, water, and a telephone (upon request). The fuel station serves vessels 24-hours per day and as well as refuelling, can pump sewage and bilge water. Other maintenance services are available to ensure your boat is kept in good running order.

During your stay at Club Marina, you can access the internet from your boat and stay in touch with the world beyond. A laundry service will take care of the domestic chores as you decide how to fill your day - and the choice is endless. The marina houses a Turkish bath which comes highly recommended. A gym is available with a sauna, as well as an exhibition centre which performs a variety of functions. There is also a restaurant, bar and cafe where you can eat and drink well without having to leave the marina.

If you do decide to visit nearby Gocek, you can take the free ferry service that travels from Club Marina to the Skopea Marina from 07:45 local time until midnight in summer. The town has quickly grown from a small fishing village to popular yacht charter base and so it caters well for the sea farer. Many of the shops in the town will deliver to your yacht and the restaurants offer an excellent choice of local cuisine.

Otherwise, a trip to Fethiye is well worth the journey. This town is the first port of call for many heading out of Gocek and on your approach you'll pass the navigable channel to the west of Fethiye, with its prominent rock tombs visible from the cliffs. From here, many take a day trip up Saklikent Gorge a 300 metres-deep and ten miles-long naturally formed gorge. Known as the 'Hidden City,' many come here to get out of the heat as the walls of Saklikent Gorge are so high that they cut out most of the sunlight. The fresh spring waters that flow through are freezing cold.

Club Marina Gocek is certainly a resting spot to have on your itinery - the comfort, service, scenery and tranquillity will amaze you.
